Conceived to be the most luxurious hotel in Europe when it was commissioned in 1928, the Alfonso XIII still remains one of Spain's most prestigious properties and reflects the grace of Andalucia's Arab heritage. In the centre of the city of Carmen on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, set between the 12th Century Alcazar Palace and the 15th Century Cathedral, the hotel public areas surround a courtyard adorned by mosaic tiled arcades and fountains.
Marble pillars and staircases, carved ceilings, antiques, tapestries and lush gardens together form an ensemble of traditional enchantment and luxury. The loving restoration work has returned the hotel to its former glory. A cancellation after that time or a no-show, will incur a penalty of 1 night's stay.
